Yokohama Grits Glugers Fanclub Weekly Newsletter in English (Vol. 32 last issue)
Hello to all members of “THE GULUGERS”!
All events for the 2025-2026 season have now concluded.
Thank you so much for attending the “Tokyo WILDS Interleague Game & Fan Appreciation Day” last weekend!
Let’s look back on the fantastic finale, filled with laughter and tears.
Yokohama Grits vs the Tokyo Wilds
The interleague match against Tokyo WILDS was the last practice game of the season.
The Shin-Yokohama rink was filled with the same kind of excitement as a regular season game.
Match Result: Yokohama GRITS 4 – 4 Tokyo WILDS (Draw)
Although it ended in a draw, it was a great game where both teams showed their determination.
Shoma Izumi Retirement Ceremony
After the game, a retirement ceremony was held for #5 Shoma Izumi, who announced his retirement at the end of this season.
It was the last scene for Izumi, who has supported the team for many years and always put his body on the line with grit.
He departed amid warm applause. Thank you so much for your hard work, Izumi!
Ending the hockey season with the Best Smiles
At the fan appreciation day after the game, unexpected sides of the players that are not usually seen exploded!
A New Player Joins Topaz!?
The biggest highlight was #43 Hatayama.
He performed a sharp routine as a member of the official cheerleading squad, “GRITS TOPAZ”!
He swept the venue into a whirlwind of laughter, surprise, and (perhaps) great emotion.
On-ice interaction:
Finally, an on-ice interaction event was held with the fans.
Each player was able to look everyone in the eye and express their gratitude for the past year.
Your smiles are our greatest energy.
AHL 2025-2026 Season : looking back
This season, Yokohama GRITS ran through the season together with “THE GULUGERS.”
There were difficult times when we didn’t achieve the results we hoped for, but your unwavering support, wearing your blue jerseys and cheering us on until your voices were hoarse, was always our strength.
While our goal of reaching the playoffs remains a task for next season, the tenacity and team unity we showed in the final stages will undoubtedly be a great asset for the future.
Gifts for Yokohama Grits Fanclub members
For Sapphire and Gold members who were unable to receive their “signed stick” benefit on the day, the Fan Club Office will contact you separately via email.
Please wait a little longer.
Finally, to all of you who love Yokohama GRITS, thank you so much for this season.
We look forward to the day when we can hear your passionate cheers again at the Shin-Yokohama rink.
With this, the 2025-2026 Season comes to a conclusion.
GO GRITS GO!
