横浜ベイスターズとMLBの縁—両リーグを渡り歩いた選手たち
横浜DeNAベイスターズ（旧・横浜ベイスターズ、さらに以前は横浜大洋ホエールズ）は、長年にわたりNPBとMLBの間で多くの才能を輩出・受け入れてきました。
日本からメジャーへ渡った選手、そしてアメリカ・キューバ・中南米出身の選手がNPBを新たなステージや現役晩年の場として選ぶなど、ベイスターズはその架け橋としての歴史を続けています。
以下、横浜ベイスターズ／DeNAベイスターズに在籍したことのある主なMLB経験選手を紹介していきます。
アレックス・ラミレス（外野手）
「ラミちゃん」の愛称で親しまれた彼は、クリーブランド・インディアンス（1998〜2000年）およびピッツバーグ・パイレーツ（2000年）でのML経験を経た後、現役晩年に横浜DeNAベイスターズ（2012〜2013年）でプレー。ヤクルトスワローズと読売ジャイアンツでの活躍でも知られ、引退後はベイスターズの監督（2016〜2020年）を務めた。
今永昇太（左投手、シカゴ・カブス）
ベイスターズのエースとして活躍した後、カブスと契約。2024年のMLBデビューシーズンでは鮮烈な活躍を見せた。
筒香嘉智（外野手／指名打者）
ベイスターズで長年主力を担った後、タンパベイ・レイズ（その後ピッツバーグ・パイレーツ、ロサンゼルス・ドジャース）でプレー。帰国後はNPBに復帰した。
斎藤隆（右投手）
ベイスターズで伝説的なクローザーとして名を馳せた後、MLBでもロサンゼルス・ドジャース、ボストン・レッドソックス、アトランタ・ブレーブス、ミルウォーキー・ブルワーズ、アリゾナ・ダイヤモンドバックスで活躍した。
佐々木主浩（右投手）
「大魔神」の異名を持つクローザー。ベイスターズで全盛期を過ごした後、シアトル・マリナーズに移籍。2000年にはア・リーグ新人王を獲得し、2度のオールスター選出を誇る。
大家友和（右投手）
ベイスターズでキャリアをスタートさせた後、ボストン・レッドソックス、モントリオール・エクスポズ／ワシントン・ナショナルズ、ミルウォーキー・ブルワーズ、トロント・ブルージェイズ、セントルイス・カーディナルス、シアトル・マリナーズ、クリーブランド・インディアンスと渡り歩いた（後に横浜へ復帰）。
岡島秀樹（左投手）
ボストン・レッドソックスおよびオークランド・アスレティックスでMLB実績を積んだ後、現役晩年にベイスターズでプレーした。
高橋尚成（左投手）
ニューヨーク・メッツ、ロサンゼルス・エンゼルス、ピッツバーグ・パイレーツ、シカゴ・カブスでのML経験を経た後、ベイスターズに在籍した。
山口俊（右投手）
ベイスターズで活躍した後、トロント・ブルージェイズでMLBを経験した。
ユリエスキ・グリエル（内野手／外野手）
「ユリ・グリエル」としても知られるキューバ出身の強打者。2014〜2015年にベイスターズでプレーした後、ヒューストン・アストロズ（後にマイアミ・マーリンズ）で輝かしいMLBキャリアを歩んだ。
トレバー・バウアー（右投手）
元サイ・ヤング賞受賞者。クリーブランド・インディアンス、シンシナティ・レッズ、ロサンゼルス・ドジャースなどMLBで実績を残した後、2023年にベイスターズでプレー。2025年も在籍した。
ホセ・ロペス（内野手）
ベネズエラ出身の内野手。シアトル・マリナーズ、クリーブランド・インディアンス、シカゴ・ホワイトソックスなどでMLBキャリアを歩んだ後にベイスターズへ。NPBとMLBの通算安打数が1,000本を超えた初の外国人選手として知られる。
ダヤン・ビシエド（外野手／内野手）
シカゴ・ホワイトソックスでのML経験を経て、ベイスターズでプレーしたパワーヒッター。
福盛和男（投手）
ベイスターズからテキサス・レンジャーズへ（2008年）。
中村紀洋（内野手）
ロサンゼルス・ドジャース（2005年）でプレーした後、横浜DeNAベイスターズ（2011〜2014年）でも在籍した。
ジョー・スタンカ（投手）
シカゴ・ホワイトソックスでMLBを経験したアメリカ人右投手で、NPBでもプレーした（1931〜2018年）。
ボビー・ローズ（内野手）
カリフォルニア・エンゼルス（1989〜1992年、73試合）を経て、横浜ベイスターズのスター選手として活躍（1993〜2000年）。
タイラー・オースティン（一塁手／外野手）
ニューヨーク・ヤンキース、ミネソタ・ツインズ、サンフランシスコ・ジャイアンツ、ミルウォーキー・ブルワーズでのML経験を経て、横浜DeNAベイスターズ（2020〜2025年）でプレー。2026年にシカゴ・カブスとしてMLBに復帰した。
パット・マホームズ（投手）
NFLスーパースター、パトリック・マホームズの父。横浜ベイスターズ（1997〜1998年）でプレーし、ミネソタ・ツインズ、ボストン・レッドソックス、ニューヨーク・メッツ、テキサス・レンジャーズ、シカゴ・カブス、ピッツバーグ・パイレーツとMLBでも複数球団を渡り歩いた。
グレン・ブラッグス（外野手）
ミルウォーキー・ブルワーズとシンシナティ・レッズでのML経験を経て、横浜ベイスターズ（1993〜1996年）でプレーした。
アンドレ・ジャクソン（投手）
ロサンゼルス・ドジャースとピッツバーグ・パイレーツでのML経験を経て、横浜DeNAベイスターズ（2024〜2025年、日本シリーズ制覇を含む）でプレー。その後、千葉ロッテマリーンズに移籍した。
アンソニー・ケイ（投手）
トロント・ブルージェイズ、シカゴ・カブス、ニューヨーク・メッツでのML経験を経て、横浜DeNAベイスターズ（2024〜2025年）でプレー。2026年にシカゴ・ホワイトソックスとしてMLBに復帰した。
ベイスターズはMLBのベテラン選手が新天地や再起の場を求めて集まる球団であると同時に、メジャーを目指す日本人選手の登竜門でもあります。

Yokohama Baystar Playes who have palyed in the MLB
The Yokohama DeNA BayStars (formerly known as the Yokohama BayStars and before that the Yokohama Taiyo Whales) have had a solid pipeline of talent flowing between Japan’s NPB and MLB over the years.
Several players have suited up for the BayStars before (or after) making it to the majors, including some big names in both directions—Japanese stars heading stateside and Americans/Cubans/Latin players using NPB as a stepping stone or late-career stop.
Here are some of the most notable MLB players who once played for the Yokohama BayStars/DeNA BayStars:
Known as “Ramichan,” he played for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars (2012–2013) at the end of his playing career after MLB stints with the Cleveland Indians (1998–2000) and Pittsburgh Pirates (2000); he previously starred for the Yakult Swallows and Yomiuri Giants in NPB before later managing the BayStars (2016–2020).
Shota Imanaga (LHP, Chicago Cubs) —
The lefty breakout star pitched for the BayStars before signing with the Cubs and having a strong MLB debut in 2024.
Yoshitomo Tsutsugo (OF/DH) —
Played for the BayStars before a stint with the Tampa Bay Rays (and later Pittsburgh Pirates and Dodgers); he returned to NPB afterward.
Takashi Saito (RHP) —
A legendary closer who starred for the BayStars before dominating in MLB with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, and Arizona Diamondbacks.
Kazuhiro Sasaki (RHP) —
The “Daimajin” closer spent his prime years with the BayStars before jumping to the Seattle Mariners, where he won Rookie of the Year in 2000 and was a two-time All-Star.
Tomo Ohka (RHP) —
Pitched for the BayStars early in his career before a long MLB run with the Boston Red Sox, Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals, Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Blue Jays, St. Louis Cardinals, Seattle Mariners, and Cleveland Indians (he later returned to Yokohama).
Hideki Okajima (LHP) —
Had a stint with the BayStars late in his career after MLB success with the Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics.
Hisanori Takahashi (LHP) —
Played for the BayStars after MLB time with the New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago Cubs.
Shun Yamaguchi (RHP) —
BayStars pitcher who briefly appeared in MLB with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Yulieski Gurriel (INF/OF, often listed as Yuli Gurriel) —
The Cuban star played for the BayStars in 2014–2015 before a stellar MLB career with the Houston Astros (and later Miami Marlins).
Trevor Bauer (RHP) —
The former Cy Young winner pitched for the BayStars in 2023 and returned in 2025 after MLB stints with the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Dodgers, and others.
José López (INF) —
The Venezuelan infielder played for the BayStars after MLB time with the Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox, and others; he’s notable as the first non-Japanese player to reach 1,000 combined NPB + MLB hits.
Dayán Viciedo (OF/INF) —
Power hitter who played for the BayStars after MLB experience with the Chicago White Sox.

He was an American right-handed pitcher who played in both MLB for Chicago WhiteSox and NPB (1931–2018)
Bobby Rose (IF) —
California Angels (1989–1992, 73 games) → Yokohama BayStars star (1993–2000)
Tyler Austin (1B/OF) —
Played for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars (2020–2025) after MLB stints with the New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins, San Francisco Giants, and Milwaukee Brewers; he returned to MLB with the Chicago Cubs in 2026.
Pat Mahomes (P) —
Father of NFL Superstar Patrick Mahomes. Played for the Yokohama BayStars (1997–1998) in between MLB career appearances with the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Glenn Braggs (OF) —
Played for the Yokohama BayStars (1993–1996) after MLB time with the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds.
Andre Jackson (P) —
Played for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars (2024–2025, including a Japan Series title) after MLB stints with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates; he later signed with the Chiba Lotte Marines.
Anthony Kay (P) —
Played for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars (2024–2025) after MLB appearances with the Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago Cubs, and New York Mets; he returned to MLB with the Chicago White Sox in 2026.
