第二日目！
コーチ陣と選手たちはオフシーズン中の横浜グリッツの努力を語り合っていましたが、日曜の試合の第1ピリオドは、その成果を見せてくれました。
日曜の試合は常に私たちの弱点であり、まさにスーパーマンにとってのクリプトナイトそのもの。
第2ピリオドと第3ピリオドでは、彼らは粘り強さを見せ、延長戦で逆転勝利を収めることに成功します。
ホッケーの審判について
ブロガーとしての私の今年の目標は、審判についてあまり文句を言わないことです。
そうしないと、ブログが彼らの無能さを物語るだけになってしまうから。
選手もコーチ陣も分かっていますし、リーグも分かっているはずです。
審判員に外国人選手が加わったので、彼がリーグを立て直してくれることを願っています。
横浜出身のアレックス・ラミレス氏がリーグに加入したことで、審判の強化と拡張によってリーグ運営が改善されることを期待しています。
私は心からいつも声援を送ります。
ラミレス氏が単なる象徴ではなく、本当に変化をもたらしてくれますように・・・！
とはいえ、リーグは審判のひどさを容認しており、残念ながらリーグそのものが私たちにその状態で妥協よう求めてい流のも事実です。
もしかすると、日本でホッケーを楽しむにはそれが唯一の方法なのかもしれません。
しかし、失点につながるミスコールは、今もこれからもずっと痛い目に遭うでしょう。
グリッツは最後まで戦い続けましたが、最後の瞬間やオーバータイムでの得点力を向上させる必要がありました。
最後の数秒で「自分こそがシュートを打つ男だ」と貪欲になれる選手が必要です。
ファンはみんなシュートをネットに叩きつけるその一瞬のシーンを渇望しており、選手やコーチ陣も何か仕掛けたいと思っているのは承知の上ですが、残り時間がないと、そういったことは全く意味をなさなくなります。
グリッツの将来には大きな期待を寄せていますが、日曜の試合や延長戦、接戦では、もっと力を発揮する必要性を感じずにはいられません。
フリーブレイズの所正樹選手は、自分のチームにいたらとんでもなく頼もしい存在になってくれますが、相手チームとして対戦するとなると脅威になります。彼は体格も大きく、才能も豊かな優れたプレイヤーです。
しかし、知識と経験のない審判の能力不足につけこんで、ゴール前に倒れ込んで判定をもらうつもりなら、飛び上がって喜ぶのは正直どうかと思ってしまいます。
せっかくホッケーを見に来ている子供たちに、「これがホッケーだ」と誤認させてしまうようなものだからです。
彼らは未来そのものであり、プレイヤー達を氷上の戦士として見ています。
ホイッスル後のパンチ
もう一つ気づいたこと・・・
なぜホイッスルが鳴った後、パンチできるのに、胸ぐらを掴んだ殴り合いをすることができないのかが疑問です。
上記を考えると、今年は醜く危険なシーズンになるでしょう。
ここで例を挙げると、アレックス・ラウター選手はプレー後、2発パンチを受けましたが、ニュージャージー流に笑い飛ばしてくれました。
しかしもし判定が逆だったら、どうなっていたでしょうか？
彼が「ガイジン」であることに2分間の罰則になるなど、どう考えても変な展開になります。
池田涼希選手
池田涼希選手は私のお気に入りの選手の一人です。
シーズン序盤は、グリッツのオフェンスに必要な火付け役でした。
怪我をしてしまい、しばらくの間、本来の姿を見せられませんでしたが、今週末はその力強い姿を我々ファンに見せて安心させてくれました。
その粘り強いプレーで、会場にいる全員に強い意志を示してくれました。
彼が一年を通して努力を続けてくれることを願っています。
タイラー・ロックウェル選手は今シーズン、最初の2試合で既に素晴らしい活躍を見せてくれたので、彼が今後どんな活躍を見せてくれるのか楽しみでなりません。
多くのゴールキーパーが引退する中、富田選手と伊藤崇之選手のゴールキーパー対決は、ファンならば必ずお金を出してでも見たい試合です。
今週末の両ゴールキーパーは素晴らしいプレーを見せてくれました。

Night 2
The Coaches and Players talked about how hard the Yokohama Grits worked in the off season but the 1st period in the Sunday Game would say different.
Sunday Games have always been our kryptonite / weakness.
In the 2nd and third period they showed heart and made a comeback to take the game in OT.
Refs in Japan
My goal this year as a blogger is to not complain about the referees too much because my blog would just be a novel of their incompetence.
The players know, the coaches know, and the league has to know.
They did add a foreigner to the staff so hopefully he can turn it around.
Yokohama’s very own Alex Ramirez has joined the league hopefully to make it run better with refs and expansion.
I will be rooting for you and hope you can really make a difference and not just be a figure head.
With all that said the league is ok with the referees being horrendous, and sadly the league begs us to get used to it and it might be the only way to enjoy hockey in Japan. But miss calls that lead to goals still and always will sting.
The Grits kept fighting to the very end but needed to improve on last second chances and over time.
We need a player to be greedy in those last seconds to say I am the man for the shot. I know fans always want shots on net and players and coaches want to set something up but that goes out the window when there is no time left on the clock.
I see big things in the Grits future, but Sunday Games and overtime games/ close games we have to step up.
Masaki Tokoro is the type of player you would love on your team but hate on the other team. He is big and talented.
But if you are going to take advantage of the uneducated referees by flopping in front of the net to get the call, at least don’t pop up and celebrate.
Don’t dishonor children watching, since they are the future and they see you as warriors.
Inconsistency of punches
Also why can people punch after the whistle but you can’t fight. It is going to be an ugly and unsafe season.
Only if someone was on the ice who could stop it.
Alex Rauter took two punches after the play and just laughed it off New Jersey style. What would the call have been if it were reversed. 2 Minutes for being a Gaijin.
Atsuki Ikeda
Atsuki Ikeda is one of my favorite players.
Early seasons he was the spark The Grits offence needed.
He got hurt and didn’t look like himself for a while.
But this weekend he looked strong.
He was gritty and showed a ton of heart. I hope he keeps working hard all year.
I am excited to see what Tyler Rockwell can do this season as his first two games have been amazing.
With a lot of goalies retiring or father time catching up Kai Tomita and Takayuki Ito will be a goalie matchup that I will always pay to see. Both goalies were amazing this weekend.
