横浜グリッツVS北海道レッドイーグルス　9月27日（土曜日）

第1試合

横浜グリッツは試合中も試合外でも着実に成長しているが、このような週末の敗戦は痛手であり、チームがまだ改善すべき点がたくさんあることを改めて認識させられました。

鈴木ロイ選手は今シーズン最高のプレーの一つを見せ、ゴール前でダイビングしてパックをキープし、種市悠人選手がゴールにシュートを決めるというプレーをみせてくれました！

種市選手も横浜チームにとって非常に貴重な戦力となっています。

1試合は内容が悪かったのですが、もう1試合は些細なミスがいくつかあっただけでした。

第2試合目

グリッツは第2試合でより奮闘する姿を見せてくれました。
通常だと日曜日は勢いが落ちる傾向がある彼らですが、この日は強豪チームである北海道レッドイーグルスに対し、最後まで粘り強く戦い、諦めない強い精神力でなんとか食いつこうとします。

 

久慈修平選手は元所属チームとの試合で先制点を華麗に決めてくれました。
この得点はグリッツのファンやチームの士気を高める効果もあったことでしょう。

試合中、三浦大輝選手が頭を下げた状態で強烈なタックルを受け、危なそうな場面がありました。
彼は氷上から立ち上がることができず、スタッフに担がれて退場することに。
怪我が深刻ではないことを心から祈っています。

冨田開選手はいつものようにゴール口で素晴らしい守備を見せましたが、チーム全体としてはさらにゴール正面からのシュートをもう少し防ぐ必要性を感じました。

今日は実は松金健太選手の誕生日！
お誕生日おめでとうございます！そしてチームの一員として活躍してくれて本当にありがとう。
私が「お誕生日おめでとう！」とインスタで声をかけた時、彼は「ありがとうございます！最高のファンですね！」と嬉しそうに言ってくれました。
おじさん、もう心がメロメロに…（笑。
彼のこの一言は自分の履歴書に書きたくなるほど貴重なものでした。

2ピリオドで杉本華唯選手が素晴らしいゴールを勝ち取ってくれることに！
今シーズン、彼は絶好調に感じます。
そして、池田涼希選手が決定的な場面でゴールを決め、横浜の選手たちは試合終了まで逆転の可能性を見せてくれました。
この経験を糧に、今後の試合で各選手のさらなる活躍に期待大！

今回の旅行で得られた「体験」という観点からいくつか。
レッドイーグルスがホームコートで試合するのが見れて満足だったものの、彼らのファンの静かさに驚きました。
特に得点時や試合終了間近の5分間以外は、ほとんど声援がなかったんです。
地元の人々の穏やかかつ落ち着きのある性格を考慮すると納得できますが、少し不思議な感じもしました。
アイスリンクには、審判の判定内容を画面に表示して観客に分かりやすくするなど、便利な工夫がされており、誰でもよりホッケーを理解し、楽しめるシステムが特徴的でした。
印象に残ってるのが、両日ともリンク内がものすごく暑かったこと。
北海道の屋内アイスリンクで2日間も汗だくになるとは想定外だったので、驚きを隠せませんでした。
会場内の温度設定により氷の状況も悪くなりましたが、まあ、それは両チームに同じように影響したので、敗北の言い訳にはなりません😅。
もう一つびっくりしたのは、座席配置のミスが起こってしまったこと。
結果両日のチケット代が全額返金され、実質無料で試合を見ることができました。

Yokohama Grits VS Hokkaido Red Eagles Day 1 (Sep.27)

Game 1

The Yokohama Grits keep improving on and off the ice but weekends like this hurt and remind us there is so much more work to be done.

Roy Suzuki made one of the best plays all season where he dove to make a puck stay in front of the net, so that Yuto Taneichi could put it in the back of it.
Yuto has been a HUGE addition to the Yokohama roster.

Roy Suzuki told Kocohama about the away trip –

As a team, I think we were able to play the style of hockey that GRITS aim for.
However, I clearly felt the difference in two areas: one was our lack of finishing ability, and the other was the gap in individual physical strength.
By improving on these two points, we will definitely get our revenge in the next game against the Eagles.　— Roy Suzuki, #61

I hope to be there for road games too one day when I improve my health.
Red Eagles fans have always been kind to me and invited me up.
I was so proud of how loud the Grits faithful cheered while watching the game in my home on Youtube for free.

Yokohama Grits VS Hokkaido Red Eagles Day 2 (Sep.28)

Game 2

The Grits put up a better fight in Game two.
They usually slow down on Sundays, but they showed true grit and heart to fight and make a game out of it against the power house that is the Red Eagles Hokkaido.

Shuhei Kuji comes out against his former team and scores first.
I feel this lifted the spirits of Grits fans and the team.

There was a scary moment in the game where Daiki Miura got hit hard with his head down.
He needed help getting off the ice.
We hope he is alright and it is nothing too major.

Kai Tomita was amazing in net as always but as a team we need to stop goals right in front of the net.

Kenta Matsukane’s Birthday on Sunday today!
Happy Birthday and thanks for being a part of the team.
When I wished Happy Birthday he said “Thank you sir! You’re the best fan ever!.”
Need to add that to my resume.

Kai Sugimoto had a pretty goal in the second.
He has a hot start to the season.

Atsuki Ikeda got a goal in the clutch, had Yokohama believing in a comeback until the clock ran out on the Grits.
Hopefully they can build off this experience.

In terms of the ‘experience’ side of the trip, it was enjoyable to see the Red Eagles play on their own turf.
But it’s surprising to see how quiet their fans are (they were essentially silent except for when they scored, or the last 5 mins of the game), which struck me as a bit weird, but kinda makes sense given how calm and chill the people in the area are.
The rink had some nice features like displaying onscreen the calls so that everyone is clear on what the penalties are.
It was damn hot inside on both days though.
I was NOT expecting to be sweating inside an ice rink in Hokkaido across both days, but that’s what happened.
It kinda made the ice conditions lousy too, but hey, that affects both teams and is hardly an excuse 😅.
Also, in an unexpected twist of events, due to a balls-up regarding seat allocations, we actually got refunded for both days so we essentially saw the games for free.That’s definitely a first for me haha.　— Brendan from Grits Gang
