横浜グリッツ#9、アレックス・ラウター選手独占インタビュー
横浜グリッツが誇るフォワードの9番、アレックス・ラウター選手にインタビューをしました！
怪我をしてからの思いや今後の見通し、横浜についてお話を伺います。
デイブ・ココ（以下ココ）：
最初に何よりも、肩の怪我は大丈夫ですか？もう100％回復しましたか？
ラウター選手：
はい、今は100%健康で、気分も良好です。
肩甲骨骨折からの復帰には長い道のりがありましたが、8週間という期間を経て、11月下旬のフリーブレイズ戦で再び氷上に戻れた時は最高の気分でした。
タイミングと試合のスピード感を取り戻すにはいつも時間がかかりますが、しっかりと準備できたと感じています。
復帰2試合目には得点を挙げ、八戸での大きな勝利に貢献することができました。

ココ：
横浜グリッツの一人でいてくれてありがとうございます！
ここ数年の横浜はどんな感じですか？
ラウター選手：
横浜グリッツでプレーできることはいつも光栄だと思っています。
新しいチームには常に困難や壁が立ちはだかりますが、グリッツの関係者は皆本当に親切で、正直言って、日本の他の場所でプレーすることは想像できません。
ここは私にとって第二の故郷となり、横浜でプレーし、生活できることを本当に嬉しく思っています。
ココ：
レッドイーグルスとの延長戦で決勝点を挙げたのは素晴らしかったですね。
プレーの組み立てはどうでしたか？パックへの自信はありましたか？
ラウター選手：
先週末の延長戦でのゴールは、間違いなく忘れられない思い出になるでしょう。
タイラーが素晴らしいプレーでパックを返してくれて、ユウトがゴールネットに駆け上がってスペースをたくさん作ってくれたおかげで、危うくコントロールを失いそうになったけれど、ファーポストにパスしようとした時にゴールキーパーを少し騙せた結果になりました。
ココ：
アレックス・ラウター専用の歓声をアウェーで聞いたのは特別な体験だったでしょうね。
横浜のファンについてはどう思いますか？
ラウター選手：
横浜のファンは最高です。
北海道まで自費で来て、僕らの試合を観て応援してくれるなんて、これ以上ないくらい素晴らしい。
ファンの皆さんは、ずっと昔にアレックス・ラウターコールを始めたことをまだ覚えていますか？😆

ココ：
短期間でトップ2チームと何度も対戦することになり、グリッツにとって、この1ヶ月はスケジュール的に厳しい月でした。
あなたとチームはどのような心構えで臨みましたか？
ラウター選手：
スケジュールは絶対ですから。
正直なところ、僕やチームの試合へのアプローチは、対戦相手や時期によって大きく変わることはありません。
重要なのは、自分たちがコントロールできることを統制して、週末の試合までにシステムとゲームプランを微調整して準備万端にしておくことです。
ココ：
今週は第93回全日本選手権が開催されますね。
これは日本にとって大きな大会です。
グリッツは球団史上、この大会で良い成績を残していません。
メディアやファンはこれを一大イベントと捉えていますが、あなたや選手たちはどのように臨むのでしょうか？
特にプレッシャーは感じますか？
ラウター選手：
プロスポーツ、特に全日本のような短い大会では常にプレッシャーがかかりますが、質問の通り、グリッツはこの大会で良い成績を残せていません。
昨年の東洋戦での痛恨の敗戦は皆さんも覚えていると思いますが、今年の大会は私たちにとっても間違いなく重要な試合です。
金曜日の準々決勝初戦に向けて万全の準備を整える必要がありますが、このチームは集中力を保ち、この挑戦にしっかりと応えられると確信しています。
ココ：
横浜グリッツはプレーオフに一度も出場したことがなく、現在勝ち点1差で負けています。
今はこれまで所属したグリッツの中で最強のチームでしょうか？
そして、グリッツにプレーオフ進出の力があると思いますか？
ラウター選手：
グリッツは今年のプレーオフ進出の可能性が非常に高いと思います。
私がグリッツに在籍して以来、間違いなく最強のグループです。
そして、最終的に勝敗を分けるのはフリーブレイズとのシリーズマッチ。
勝ち点は1ポイント差ですが、フリーブレイズとの4試合と残りの神戸戦が、私たちにとってまさに勝負を決めるでしょう。
ココ：
横浜グリッツが最優先で改善すべき点は何だと思いますか？
ラウター選手：
グリッツが改善できる一番の点はパワープレーだと思います。
私はパワープレーに大きな誇りを持っていますが、私たち（特に私のチーム）は最近あまり調子が良くなく、もっと成功させる経験を積み、チームの勝利に貢献する必要があります。
チャンピオンシップを制するチームは皆、止められないパワープレーを持っています。
私たちも同じように危険なパワープレーを生み出す方法を見つける必要があります。
ココ：
夏にはニュージャージーでリーグを運営されていますが、リーグの調子はどうですか？
また、リーグについてもっと詳しく知りたい場合は、どこで情報を得ることができますか？
ラウター選手：
ジャージー・プロリーグ（JPL）は好調です！
昨夏は12チーム、200人以上の選手が参加しました。

Dave Koco :
First off, how is your health? How is your shoulder? Are you 100%?
Alex Rauter :
Thanks for your time.
Yes, I am 100% healthy and feeling good.
It was a long road back from my Glenoid fracture but after 8 long weeks, it felt great to be back on the ice against the Freeblades in late November.
It always takes awhile to get the timing and game speed back but I felt like I really prepared well and by my second game back, I got on the scoresheet and was able to help us get a big win in Hachinohe.
Dave Koco :
Thank you as always for being a Yokohama Grit.
What has the last few years been like here in Yokohama?
Alex Rauter :
I always say playing for the Yokohama Grits is a privilege.
There’s always hurdles and obstacles that come with being a new franchise but the people involved with Grits are just so nice from top to bottom, and I honestly couldn’t imagine playing anywhere else in Japan.
This place has become a second home to me and I really just love being able to play and live in Yokohama.

Dave Koco :
Getting the game winner in OT vs. the Red Eagles must have been amazing.
How did the play set up and what was your confidence in the puck going in?
Alex Rauter :
The OT goal this past weekend will definitely be a memorable one.
I mean Tyler made a great play to get it back to me and Yuto cleared a ton of space for me by driving the net and I almost lost it but I think that almost fooled the goalie a little bit as I just tried to sling it along the far post.
Dave Koco :
Hearing an Alex Rauter chant on the road, must have been special.
What are your thoughts on the Yokohama fan base?
Alex Rauter :
The fans in Yokohama are great.
I mean to pay their own money to travel all the way to Hokkaido to watch us and support us, it doesn’t get much better than that.
I wonder if the fans know that you started that Alex Rauter chant way back when.

Dave Koco :
This has been a hard month for the Grits scheduling wise as you take on the two best teams multiple times in a short period.
How are you and the team handling it?
Alex Rauter :
The schedule is what it is.
To be honest, my approach and our team’s approach doesn’t really change depending on who we are playing and when. It really just comes down to controlling what we can control and making sure our systems and game plans are fine tuned and ready to go by the weekend’s games.
Dave Koco :
The 93rd All Japan Tournament is this week.
This is a huge tournament in Japan.
The Grits have not done well here in franchise history.
The media and fans see it as a huge event, how do you and the players feel about going in?
Is there extra pressure?
Alex Rauter :
I mean there’s always pressure in pro sports and especially in short tournaments like the All Japan but you’re right, the Grits have never performed well at this tournament.
I think everyone remembers the devastating loss from last year against Toyo too so this year’s tournament is definitely an important one for us.
We need to be ready to play in that first quarter final game Friday but I’m very confident that our team will be focused and up to the challenge.
Dave Koco :
The Yokohama Grits have never made the playoffs and now are one point out.
Is this the strongest Grits team you have been a part of?
And do you think we have what it takes to make it?
Alex Rauter :
I think the Grits have a very good shot at the playoffs this year.
It’s definitely the strongest group I have been a part of in my Grits tenure and I think it all really boils down to our series matchup with the Freeblades which we are currently winning.
So despite being one point out, I think those 4 games with the Freeblades and the remaining Kobe Matches are really going to be make or break for us.

Dave Koco :
What is the number one thing you think the Yokohama Grits need to improve?
Alex Rauter :
The number one thing I think the Grits can improve I think is our Powerplay.
I take a lot of pride in that and we (my unit in particular) have not been very sharp lately and we need to be converting more and helping our team win some of these games.
All the teams who win Championships have unstoppable power plays and we need to find a way to make ours equally as dangerous.
Dave Koco :
In the summer you run a league in New Jersey, how is the league doing and where can we find out more about it?
Alex Rauter :
The Jersey Pro League (JPL) is doing great!
Last summer we played with 12 teams and over 200 players.
