Coach Iwamoto :
Thank you to all Yokohama Grits fans for your continued enthusiastic support.
We look forward to earning more of your cheers in the 25 – 26 season.
We missed out on a win by one point last season, and that is still a bitter memory all of us have.
To overcome that one-point loss, the players powered up this offseason, their goal being to gain 3kg in muscle mass and joining training in July.
To transform their increased strength into speed, they underwent intense training, including intense interval, and are now we are finally ready for the opening game.
Since last season, the team’s approach to ice hockey is to master a fast-pace game, always being one step ahead of the opponent.
The key for us is speed this season, and with that speed enhanced with power, we will play with strength and compete against opponents, even in close contact with them.
Our goal this season is to advance to the Asia League playoffs and the All-Japan Championship finals.

Question : Any thoughts on this new season as a captain?
Captain Osawa :
Since July, we have been working hard as a team to achieve our goals of advancing to the Asia League playoffs and the All-Japan Championship finals.
This season, I want to focus on results and grow into a team that can win.
We have added six new players, each with their own unique talents, so I hope you’ll keep an eye on them.
The team is also getting better.
We will all work hard to have a great season, while also having fun.

Captain Osawa :
This season, I want to focus on results, especially so that I can share as many joyful games as possible with you all.

Alternative captain Ikeda :
As the alternate captain this season, I will focus on results in everything I do.
I have felt the atmosphere of the team has been very good since we began training in July, so I will aim to make plays and goals that will really elevate the team spirit.

This season marks the Grits’ sixth year, and personally my sixth professional season.
