横浜グリッツの松金健太選手へKocohamaから独占インタビューをお願いしたところ、快く引き受けていただきました！
ホッケーとの出会いから大学時代の思い出、オーストラリアでの経験など松金選手のファンなら必読！
お忙しい中、答えていただきありがとうございます。

デイブ・ココ（以下ココ）：
横浜グリッツでプレーしようと決心した経緯は？

松金選手：
北海道ワイルズからシドニーに移籍した後、日本のトップリーグでプレーしたい気持ちが大きくなったのと、当時グリッツのGMと連絡する機会があり、必要としてくれたのを感じたからです。

ココ：
プロフィールによると、お兄様がプレーしていたことがきっかけでホッケーを始めたとのこと。それ以外に、ホッケーのどのような魅力に惹かれたのですか？

松金選手：
生まれ育った北海道ではアイスホッケーが盛んな地域で、アイスホッケーを通して仲間との時間を楽しめたことが何よりも僕にとって幸福なことでした。

ココ：
デュアルキャリアの難しさとメリットは何ですか？

松金選手：
難しさはパフォーマンスを管理すること、メリットは多くの出会いがあること。

ココ：
アジアリーグを観戦する海外のファンは、ゴールキーパーのプレーと試合のスピードを高く評価しています。
松金さんのポジションの選手の育成が必要なリーグで、ディフェンスとしてプレーするのはどんな気分ですか？

松金選手：
自分は気づいたら３０歳を超えていましたが、過去の先輩方はもっとユニークで見ていて楽しい選手が多かったです。
個性豊かな選手が育ってほしいと思いますし、ディフェンスマンとしてはトラッシュトークも含めたゲームの要素、相手との駆け引きをできるだけ楽しもうと努めています。

ココ：
明治大学で過ごした日々はどんなものがありましたか？
特に印象に残っている思い出は？

松金選手：
仲間と過ごした日々の寮生活が輝いていました。
また、生涯付き合うであろう友人との出会いが何より尊いものです。

ココ：
過去に日光アイスバックスと並ぶリーグ屈指の人気チーム、北海道クレインズでプレーしていましたね。
彼らのためにプレーしていた時の気持ちは？

松金選手：
僕はクレインズと一緒に育ちました。
自分がそのチームの一員になれたことは本当に光栄なことですが、また最後になってしまったのはいまだに寂しい気持ちです。

ココ：
クレインズは劇的な結末を迎えましたね。リーグの不安定さを無視できない時期はどんな心境でしたか？

松金選手：
自分一人では何も状況を打破できない無力さを痛感しました。

ココ：
シドニーベアーズでプレーされていましたね。
そこでどんな経験をされましたか？
オーストラリア、アジアと一年中ホッケーができるのは素晴らしいことですね。

松金選手：
海外での生活は初めてでしたが、シドニーに行く決断をした自分を誇りに思います。
そのくらいホッケー、日常、出会いが素晴らしかったです。

ココ：
オーストラリアのファンはどんな感じでしたか？

松金選手：
非常に献身的だったと思います。
愛情に溢れており、寛大で、大きな支えとなっていました。
彼らの応援にハードワークで返したいと思ってプレーしました。

ココ：
オーストラリアホッケーのレベルはアジアと比べてどうでしょうか？

松金選手：
アジアリーグの方がレベルは高いですが、特にジュニアの世代は北米経験のある選手も増えており、今後が非常に楽しみです。

ココ：
多くのファンが横浜グリッツのプレーオフ進出を期待しています。
プレーオフ進出についてどう思いますか？
またロッカールームの雰囲気について教えてください。

松金選手：
グリッツとして次のステージに向かう時期だと感じています。
自分は選手なので、勝利することで、それがグリッツの組織として成長できると信じています。
若い選手が多いですが、徐々にロッカールーム内でのリーダーシップも芽生えています。
彼らの成長を最大限サポートしたいですし、同時に彼らからたくさんのことを学んでいます。

ココ：
横浜グリッツは設立からまだ6年ですが、ファンベースは1年目から大きく成長しました。
多くのファンはチームが毎年成長していくのを楽しみにしている一方で、選手の移籍を心配している声もあります。
NHLでは選手の移籍が頻繁に行われるため、残された時間が明確です。
オフシーズンはどのように過ごしていますか？
ホッケーのプロ選手としてあとどれくらいプレーできると思いますか？
そして、横浜グリッツの一員としての将来について教えてください。

松金選手：
横浜グリッツのファンは本当に最高です。
ホームでプレーできる喜びを与えてくれます。

選手の移籍に関して、選手それぞれの哲学は違いますが、僕は基本的に歓迎されるべきものと考えています。
NHLほどチームの数は少ないですが、グリッツの選手はホッケーだけではなく人間として優秀な選手ばかりで、彼らの人生の選択肢は常に開かれています。
人生は一度きりの長い旅ですから、選手それぞれの哲学が尊重されるべきです。
僕は、コンディション的にはまだまだプレーできる自信はありますが、毎シーズン今年が最後になるかもしれないという気持ちでプレーしています。
実際明日プレーできる保証はないですし、チームも存在しているかわかりません。
それを理解した上でオフシーズンにはオフシーズンにしかできないことをし、仲間との時間、自分のボスとの時間も大切に過ごします。

Yokohama Grits #52, Kenta Matsukane exclusive interview!

We asked Yokohama Grits player Kenta Matsukane for an exclusive interview, and he gladly accepted!
This is a must-read for all Matsukane fans, as he talks about his first encounter with hockey, his memories from college, and his experiences in Australia!
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions despite your busy schedule.

 

Koco :
What was the procedure for choosing to play on The Yokohama Grits?

Matsukane DF : 
After transferring from Hokkaido Wilds to Sydney, I felt the desire to play in Japan’s top league.
I also had the opportunity to contact the GM of the Grits at the time and sensed that they needed me.

Koco :
According to your player profile, you started playing hockey because your older brother played. What about the sport first attracted you to the game of hockey?

Matsukane DF :
In Hokkaido where I was born and raised, ice hockey had always been a popular sport.
Enjoying time with my friends through ice hockey was my greatest happiness more than anything.

Koco :
What are some of the challenges and benefits of a dual career life?

Matsukane DF :
The con is managing performance, and the pro is having a lot of opportunity to meet people.

Koco :
For many international fans that see the Asian League always praise its goaltending, and the speed of the games.
How does it feel to play on defense in a league that needs more players at your position to improve? 

Matsukane DF : 
Before I knew it I was over 30, but the seniors from the past were more unique and fun to watch.
I hope more players with distinct personalities will emerge.
As a defenseman, I try to enjoy every part of the game, including trash talk with them.

Koco :
What were your days at Meiji University life?
What are some of your core memories?

Matsukane DF :
The days spent with friends in the dormitory were brilliant.
Also, meeting best friends was the most precious thing.

 

Koco :
You played for the Hokkaido Cranes, one of the most popular teams in the league, up there with the Nikko Ice Bucks, what was it like to play for them?

Matsukane DF :
I grew up with the Cranes.
It was truly an honor to be part of that team, but I still feel sad that it ended.

 

Koco :
The Cranes had a dramatic ending.
What did it feel like living in such a time of uncertainty of the league?

Matsukane DF :
I felt my own powerlessness, realized I could do nothing alone to break through that situation.

Koco :
You got to play for the Sydney Bears.
How was the experience?
It must be nice to be able to play hockey all year long with Australia and Asia.

Matsukane DF :
It was my first time living abroad, but I’m proud of myself for deciding to go to Sydney.
That’s how amazing the hockey, daily life, and the people I met were over there.

Koco :
How are the Australian Fans?

Matsukane DF :
I believe they were incredibly devoted.
They were overflowing with affection, generous, and a tremendous source of support.
I played wanting to repay their support with hard work.

Koco :
How is the level of play in Australia compared to Asia?

Matsukane DF :
The Asia League is a higher level of play, but especially their among the junior generation, there are increasing numbers of players with North American experience, making the future very exciting.

Koco :
A lot of fans are hoping the Yokohama Grits make the playoffs.
What are your thoughts on making the playoffs?
And what are your thoughts of the locker room?

Matsukane DF :
I feel it’s time for the Grits to move to the next stage.
As a player, I believe that winning is what allows the Grits organization to grow.
While we have many young players, leadership is gradually emerging within the locker room.
I want to support their growth as much as possible, and at the same time, I’m learning a lot from them.

Koco :
The Yokohama Grits are only six years old and the fan base has grown so much since year one.
Many fans are excited to see the team grow every year but get worried about players leaving.
In the NHL players move so often and it is more clear how much time they have left.
How does the off season work for you?
How much longer do you see yourself playing pro hockey?
And how long do you envision yourself as a Yokohama Grit?

Matsukane DF :
Yokohama Grits fans are truly the best.
They give us the joy of playing at home rink.

Regarding player transfers, each player has their own philosophy, but I fundamentally believe they should be understand any transfers.
While there are fewer teams than in the NHL, Grits players are outstanding not just as hockey players but as human beings, and their life choices are always open.
Life is a long journey we only get once, so each player’s philosophy should be respected.
We know we are all in professional market.
While I’m confident I still have the physical condition to play, I approach every season with the mindset that it might be my last season.
There’s no guarantee I’ll be able to play tomorrow, or even that the team will still exist.
Understanding that, I make sure to do things during the offseason that I can only do then, cherishing time with my teammates and my boss.
