また妻が怪しい物を僕に食べさせようとしています…
数年前に動画配信中に食べさせられた「濡れポテトチップ」から、自分が口に入れるものは注意するようにしているのですが、今回もどうやらジャガイモ関連みたいで…

妻「今流行ってるらしいよ。横浜にもお店があるみたいだから食べてみよう！」
というわけで再び体を張ってチャレンジしに行きます。
いつもよく行くアメリカン・アンテナと同じフロアに巨大なジャガイモを発見。
なんともかわいいキャラクターにほのぼのしながらも、お店で売っているものをチェック。
え…ジャガイモ…？
しかもそのままの？？
収穫された後によく洗われたものが陳列されているのを見てなんとも不思議な気分になっていると、妻が早速注文。
1つが大体500円あれば買える値段でした。
（1個486円）
店内で食べるところがないので、小さなカウンターへ移動。
袋にずっしりとしたじゃがいもの重みを感じながら手に取ってみると、本当に見慣れたジャガイモそのもの。

美味しい。
でも最初に出てきた感想は…「何で？？」
蒸しただけのジャガイモだけでも美味しいのに、ここまで手を加えてジャガイモに似せる必要はあったのだろうか…？
「カムジャバト」は韓国語で「じゃがいもパン」という意味らしいですが、パン要素があまりよくわからなかったです。
一つ気になったのは、温めて売られていたらもっとおいしかったんじゃないかなと思った点。それとも仕事帰りに買って家族で楽しむためにあえて冷たい状態で販売していたのかとも思えます。
話のタネとして職場やバイト仲間に買っていくと面白いかも。

I still haven’t recovered from this experience, but she convinced me to try this new potato fad that came from Korea.
They had a pop up store in Shinjuku to test out the product, and it turned out to be a tremendous success selling more than 3,000 potatos a day.
Speaking of which, this is what the store was selling.
They look like washed potatos right out of the farm!
Yet, they cost around 500 yen each.
You know there’s gotta be something special when you can buy a bag of it for the same price.
They have a cute character as their logo though.
The store was on the floor that has the restaurant American Antenna, and there were always someone near the cash register to buy these.
Too bad they didn’t have anywhere to sit to eat these, so we went to a nearby counter.

It’s good.
It’s good for a potato snack, but my mind was occupied by one word.
“WHY??”
The name “gamzabatt” means “potato bread” in Korean, and they did deliver.
It was more sweet than peppery, so it would make a great snack especially if you’re feeling tired or hungry.
I wondered why they couldn’t sell this warm, but I guess people just buy them, take them home or to where they work as little surprises for coworkers, and just heat it with a microwave.
It definitely will make a good souvenir and something to talk about, so if you’re looking for a food with a twist or something memorable, gamzabatt will get the job done.
Definitely recommend for folks who love potatos!
