チェコ共和国とアメリカ合衆国での10年以上にわたるプロホッケーキャリアを経て、東京生まれのフォワードがついに日本に戻ってきます。
そして僕たちKocohamaにとって最も重要なことは、彼が横浜に来るということです。

三浦は2026〜27シーズンの横浜グリッツと契約を締結しました。
国際経験・NCAA経験、そしてECHL通算300試合以上という実績を持つ選手がアジアリーグにやってきます。

そして僕はこう言わずにはいられません。

大きな発言です。
でも三浦選手のキャリアを辿れば、なぜそう言えるのかすぐに分かります。

険しい道を選んだ日本人選手

三浦選手のホッケー人生は、日本から遠く離れた場所で始まりました。

わずか17歳でチェコ共和国に渡り、やがて北米へとつながる海外での旅が始まりました。
チェコでの経験が選手としても人間としても自分を形作ったと、三浦自身が語っています。

クラドノのホッケーシステムでヨーロッパの競争を経験した後、ついにアメリカでの挑戦を決意します。

それは決して楽な選択ではありませんでした。チェコでのプロ契約のオファーを断り、アメリカという新たな挑戦の場を選んだと三浦は述べています。

そのギャンブルが、彼のキャリアの流れを大きく変えることになりました。

レイク・スペリオール州立大学で歴史を作る

三浦選手はミシガン州のレイク・スペリオール州立大学に進学しました。

そこで彼は、NCAA Division Iホッケーをプレーした初の日本人選手となる歴史的快挙を成し遂げます。

2017年から2021年にかけて100試合に出場し、8ゴール21アシスト29ポイントを記録しました。
それだけでも十分に注目に値するキャリアです。
でも三浦選手はそこで立ち止まりませんでした。

2021年、三浦はアイオワ・ハートランダーズでECHLキャリアをスタートさせました。
ここからキャリアが本格的に花開いていきます。

ECHLでは日本人選手として最も輝かしい実績を残した選手の一人となり、2024〜25シーズン前の時点で184試合に出場し、33ゴール51アシスト84ポイントを記録。
当時ECHLで100試合に到達していた3人の日本人選手のうちの1人でもありました。

2023〜24シーズン：飛躍の年

2023〜24シーズン、三浦はアイオワの全72試合に出場しました。

この32ポイントは当時のキャリアハイでした。さらに、72試合制のシーズン全試合に出場したハートランダーズ史上初の選手にもなりました。

2024〜25シーズン：最高の得点力を発揮

飛躍の年が2023〜24シーズンなら、2024〜25シーズンは最高の得点力を見せた年でした。

67試合で21ゴール20アシストの41ポイント、プラスマイナス+20という驚異的な成績を残しました。

この41ポイントはQuantHockeyが記録している現役の日本人ECHL選手の中で、シーズン最高得点でした。

通算300試合超え

2025〜26シーズン、三浦は66試合で8ゴール14アシスト22ポイントを記録してECHLでのキャリアを締めくくりました。

317試合 — 62ゴール — 85アシスト — 147ポイント

プレーオフでも7試合に出場し、1ゴール2アシストを追加しています。

これほど異色な経路を歩んできた選手としては、驚くべき数字です。

三浦選手のキャリアはクラブホッケーだけではありません。
日本代表のメンバーとして国際大会にも出場し、IIHFアイスホッケー世界選手権やオリンピック予選にも参加しています。

国際舞台との縁には、家族の歴史も刻まれています。
父・三浦貴行は1998年長野冬季五輪で日本代表のディフェンスマンとして出場した選手です。
その息子がオリンピック予選に挑んだ——それは特別な意味を持つ挑戦でした。
2024年には日本の2026年冬季五輪出場を懸けた最終予選メンバーにも選出されています。

北米での10年間

2026年5月、三浦は日本に戻り横浜グリッツに加入すると発表しました。
決断の理由として、人生の新たなステージへの到達・家族の事情、そしてアイオワ・ハートランダーズが翌シーズンのECHL参加を見送ったことを挙げました。

しかしもう一つ、重要な理由がありました。

横浜、です。

グリッツを選んだ理由として、チームのビジョン・関わる人々・チームをさらなる高みへ導くチャンス、そして選手のデュアルキャリアモデルへの取り組みを挙げています。

なぜ横浜なのか

ここが、この補強がこれほど興奮を呼ぶ理由です。

横浜が手に入れるのは、単なる経験豊富なホッケー選手ではありません。
プロレベルの準備と競争が求められる環境で何年も戦い続けてきた選手です。

彼がプレーしてきたフィールド—日本・チェコ共和国・NCAA Division I・ECHL・日本代表での国際ホッケー。

そのすべての経験を、今、横浜に持ち込んでくるのです。

比較的若い組織であるグリッツにとって、これほど多様なホッケー文化を経験した選手の存在は計り知れない価値をもたらすと思います。

覚悟を知る男

この補強で僕が特に好きな点がもう一つあります。
三浦はリスクを取ることの意味を、体で知っている選手だということです。

10代で日本を離れ、ヨーロッパでホッケーを学び、アメリカに渡り、NCAA Division I初の日本人選手となり、300試合以上のECHLを戦い、日本を代表し、そして今、故郷へ帰ってきます。

それは典型的なホッケーキャリアではありません。それは一つの「旅」です。
そしてその旅こそが、三浦を横浜グリッツにとって特別な存在にしているのです。

Yuki Miura Comes Home: From Japan to the Czech Republic, the ECHL and Team Japan — Now a Yokohama Grit

Yuki Miura is coming home.

After spending more than a decade building a professional hockey career overseas, including years in the Czech Republic and the United States, the Tokyo-born forward is returning to Japan — and more importantly for us here at Kocohama, he is coming to Yokohama.

Miura has signed with the Yokohama Grits for the 2026-27 season, bringing a player with international experience, NCAA experience, and more than 300 ECHL regular-season games to the Asia League.

And I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say what this means for Yokohama hockey.

That’s a big statement.

But when you look at Miura’s journey, it’s easy to understand why.

A Japanese Player Who Chose the Difficult Road

Miura’s hockey journey took him far from home.

He left Japan for the Czech Republic at just 17 years old, beginning an overseas adventure that would eventually take him to North America. Miura has written about how his time in the Czech Republic helped shape him as a player and as a person.

He played in the Kladno hockey system, gaining experience against European competition before eventually making the decision to pursue his hockey dream in the United States.

That decision wasn’t necessarily the easy one.

Miura has described turning down a professional opportunity in the Czech Republic to pursue a new challenge in America.

That gamble changed the course of his career.

Miura eventually landed at Lake Superior State University in Michigan.
There, he became the first Japanese-born player to play NCAA Division I hockey.

From 2017 through 2021, Miura played 100 NCAA games, finishing with:
8 goals, 21 assists and 29 points.

That alone would make his career notable.
But Miura wasn’t finished.

His next destination was professional hockey.

Enter the ECHL

In 2021, Miura began his ECHL career with the Iowa Heartlanders.
This is where his career really started to take off.
Miura became one of the most accomplished Japanese-born players in ECHL history.

According to the ECHL, entering the 2024-25 season he had already appeared in 184 ECHL games, recording 33 goals and 51 assists for 84 points. He was also one of only three Japanese-born players at the time to reach 100 ECHL games.

And then came his breakout season.

2023-24: A Career Year

During the 2023-24 season, Miura played all 72 games for Iowa.

He recorded:

Those 32 points represented a career high at the time. He also became the first player in Heartlanders history to play every game of a 72-game season.

If 2023-24 was his breakout year, 2024-25 was his best offensive season.
Miura exploded for 21 goals and 20 assists for 41 points in 67 games.

He also finished with a +20 rating.
That was a huge season for the Japanese forward.

2024-25 ECHL Stats

His 41 points were the highest single-season point total among active Japanese-born ECHL players listed by QuantHockey.

Over 300 ECHL Games

Miura’s final ECHL season came in 2025-26.

He played 66 games, recording:
8 goals, 14 assists and 22 points.

That gave Miura a career regular-season ECHL total of:

317 Games — 62 Goals — 85 Assists — 147 Points

He also appeared in seven ECHL playoff games, adding one goal and two assists.

Those are some serious numbers for a player who came through such an unusual path.

Miura’s career hasn’t only been about club hockey.

He has also been a member of Team Japan, representing his country in international competition.

His international résumé includes appearances at the IIHF Men’s World Championship and Olympic qualification tournaments.

His connection to Team Japan also carries some family history.
Miura’s father, Takayuki Miura, was a defenseman for Japan at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics.

That made Yuki’s participation in the Olympic qualification process particularly meaningful.

In 2024, Yuki was selected for Japan’s final Olympic qualifying roster as the country attempted to qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

His international career statistics include appearances at the World Championship and Olympic Games, including the 2026 Olympic tournament.

Ten Years in North America

Miura’s return to Japan isn’t simply a player deciding to come home after a short overseas stint.
It represents the end of a 10-year North American journey.
He moved to the United States at age 20 and spent the next decade chasing his professional hockey dream.

In May 2026, Miura announced that he would return to Japan and join the Yokohama Grits.
He explained that several factors went into the decision, including reaching a new stage of his life, family considerations, and the Iowa Heartlanders’ decision not to compete in the ECHL the following season.

But there was another important reason.
Yokohama.

Miura said he chose the Grits because of the organization’s vision, the people involved, the opportunity to help the team reach new heights, and its commitment to supporting athletes through a dual-career model.

Why Yokohama?

This is the part of the story that makes Miura’s signing so exciting.
Yokohama isn’t simply getting an experienced hockey player.

The Grits are getting someone who has spent years playing in environments that demand professional-level preparation and competitiveness.

He’s played:
Japan.
The Czech Republic.
NCAA Division I.
The ECHL.
International hockey with Team Japan.

And now he’s bringing all of that experience to Yokohama.

For a relatively young organization like the Grits, having a player who has experienced all those different hockey cultures could be incredibly valuable.

A Player Who Understands the Journey

There’s something else I like about this signing.
Miura understands what it means to take a chance.

He left Japan as a teenager.
He learned hockey in Europe.
He moved to America.
He became the first Japanese-born NCAA Division I player.
He played more than 300 ECHL games.
He represented Japan.

And now he’s coming back home.

That isn’t the typical hockey career path.

It’s a journey.

And that journey is exactly what makes Miura such an interesting addition to the Grits.

“The Biggest Signing in Yokohama Grits History”

Some people might disagree.
That’s fine.

But look at what the Grits are getting.
A Japanese national team player.
A former NCAA Division I player.
A player with 317 ECHL regular-season games.
A player with 147 ECHL points.
A player who scored 21 goals and 41 points in 67 ECHL games in 2024-25.

And, perhaps most importantly, a player who has spent years competing overseas and now wants to bring everything he learned back to Japan.

That’s a pretty impressive résumé for a Yokohama hockey player.

The Next Chapter

Yuki Miura’s career has already taken him around the world.

Now it comes back to where it started.
Japan.

But this isn’t simply a homecoming tour.
Miura is joining the Yokohama Grits because he believes he can help the organization grow.

And that’s what makes the 2026-27 season so interesting.
The Grits aren’t getting the 17-year-old kid who left Japan for the Czech Republic.
They’re getting the finished product of more than a decade of international experience.

A player who has been tested in Europe.
A player who made history in American college hockey.
A player who established himself in the ECHL.
A player who represented his country.

And now, finally, a Yokohama Grit.
