レイ・フィッシャーと初めて一緒に出版した本がこれでした。
それ以来、僕たちはコラボを続け、1980年代の孤児院を舞台にした全く異なる雰囲気の作品「ラッキー・ザ・オーファン」も出版しました。
以前、新宿の紀伊國屋書店でラッキー・ザ・オーファンが棚に並んでいるのを見たときの、あの不思議な感覚は今も忘れられません。
振り返ってみると、オペレーション・フリークショウがその旅の始まりでした。

Dave Koco : The Beginning of a Writing Journey
For me, Operation Freakshow is also significant because it represents the beginning of my journey as a published author.
It was the first book I published with Ray Fisher.
Since then, Ray and I have continued working together, eventually publishing Lucky the Orphan, a very different kind of story set in an orphanage during the 1980s.
I previously wrote about seeing Lucky the Orphan displayed at Kinokuniya in Shinjuku, which was a pretty surreal moment for me as an author.
Looking back, Operation Freakshow was where that journey began.
